A Poincaré mapping approximation for the
restricted three-body problem
A formerly found method for the construction of exactly symplectic approximations of Poincare-Maps (Wodnar 1996, unpublished), based
on the implicit generating function formalism, is being applied to some suitable form
of the Hamiltonian of the Restricted Three-Body Problem. Comparison with other
methods and the results of numerical integrations as well as some considerations on fixed
points and their stability are intended along with problems of astronomical
relevance (eg. the Trojans).
